What is dB Matting?

dB Matting is our highly effective acoustic mat with excellent impact and airborne test data that can be installed directly under timber and laminate floor finishes. dB Matting offers high-level sound reduction while reducing the floor height build-up.

dB Matting 12 is a high performing acoustic floor product to be used in Residential, Commercial and Industrial projects.  The dB Matting range has been uniquely engineered to reduce both impact and airborne sound when laid over a structure due to its high density and weight (12.5kg per m2). This product is ideally suited for use under engineered wood & laminate floor finishes. This is due to its low level of compression as it has less than 0.4mm deflection. This gives a stable and solid subfloor to install your timber or laminate floor finish.

To be used with Mapei's Ultrabond Eco VS90 Adhesive and Acoustilay Perimeter Strip 12 if installing carpet directly over the top of the dB Matting 12.

dB Matting 12mm is versatile and easy to cut with a sharp long-bladed Trimming Knife.  Score the surface then run through with the knife several times to avoid tearing.

Ensure to check with your floor finish manufacturer if dB Matting is compatible to be laid directly under your specific floor finish.
